Pack 10 Leaders:

The Leader meeting scheduled for this Thursday at 7 p.m. has been moved to the Visitation School Library (main floor, last door on right) due to the lower hall use by the Phoenix Housing Network this week.  I believe the door is always locked, so knock loudly and someone will let you in.

A draft agenda and summary of last month's meeting is included below.  I'll bring copies with me to the meeting.

Bill, are you planning to have a den leader meeting at 6:30?  Let me know, and I'll leave the key with Carol.  Thanks!

See you tomorrow,

Elisabeth Albers

Pack 10 Secretary

Welcome

The Pack Committee Chairman, John Albers, welcomed everyone.

Announcements

No announcements.

Secretary's Report

Elisabeth asked for comments or changes to the minutes of the December meeting. The minutes were approved.

Treasurer's Report

Kristin was absent.  $500 will be deposited to the the store account to cover the cost of Blue & Gold Banquet items, patches and pinewood derby kits as well as volunteer gifts.

Advancement Report

Deborah was absent.  Den leaders were asked to turn in any advancements to her so she (or others as assigned) will have time to take care of patches prior

to the Blue & Gold Banquet.

Public Relations Report

Tina was absent.

Den Leaders Report

Dens 5 and 11 have been active in community service projects.  Den 5 visited a nursing home and picked up litter at Wapato Park.  Den 11 helped at the St.

Leo's food bank in December.

Old Business

Roger thanked everyone responsible for the crown he received at the December Pack Meeting.  The gifts were appreciated by Scouts receiving them.

The charter renewal process has been completed, with new den leaders Mike Rex and Ann Garcia added to the list.  Next year we'll be up and running with PackMaster software and the renewal process should be easier.

New Business

Den leaders were asked to make sure all Scouts know they need to be in full uniform for the January Pack Meeting  due to the inspection and photo.  Each den should make sure to bring the flags (Den 5 needs one).  Joe L. said he would provide the inspection forms. He will also take and print the photos again this year.

Elisabeth will pick up the door prizes and volunteer gifts.  Joe L. asked whether we can arrange with the store to provide our own "scout bucks" and Elisabeth will talk to the store manager.

The Den's time capsule still needs to be stashed away in the Visitation Church steeple.

The January 16 pancake breakfast will be chaired by Sean Moody and Nate Heinen.  The process for picking up the food was discussed and assignments made.

It was moved, seconded and approved that all donations to the breakfast would be donated to Catholic Relief Services for Tsunami victims.  Joe L. volunteered to write a cover letter for the check.

Scout Sunday will include a Pack-sponsored Coffee & Donuts after masses.

Nate is chair.  Scouts should wear uniforms and be available to bring up the gifts at mass.

Joe L. discussed the Blue & Gold Banquet preparations and distributed a detailed summary with checklist.  Scouting memorabilia will be displayed.

There was discussion about having Scouts help build the Pinewood Derby track.

Other Business

Joe L. discussed the value of Wood Badge training, noting that Pack 10 subsidizes the fee for the program.

Elisabeth was asked to check on "Community Service" streamers at the store.

[note: they didn't have any available]
